Toxicology - Endpoint: In Vitro Dermal Penetration
SPL conducts
the assessment of the potential of chemicals, agrochemicals
and drugs to penetrate the skin using an automated flow-through
diffusion cell system. Testing is conducted in excised skin
according to Draft OECD Test Guideline 428 “Skin Absorption
in vitro Method”, the OECD Guidance Document for the
Conduct of Skin Absorption Studies (2000) and the Cosmetic
Ingredients: Guidelines for Percutaneous Absorption / Penetration
(COLIPA, 1995).
The SkinEthic human reconstituted
epidermis can also be used for dermal penetration and metabolism
studies, especially for formulation comparison in product
development.
